Roger Williams University Student Senate

The Roger Williams University Student Senate is the major governing board on campus. The main reason I added it to the hillel website is that links to the Student Senate Constitution and by-laws are on their website, and they are updated weekly when new amendments are passed.

Jewish Federation of Rhode Island

The Jewish Federation of Rhode Island (JFRI) is a 50-year-old central fundraising, planning and community relations organization for the RI Jewish community. Through its annual campaign, the JFRI helps fund social service programs in RI, Israel and all countries where the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee is active. The Community Relations Council works to evaluate concerns of the Jewish community and deal with them effectively, to seek consensus on joint projects and to develop guidelines for action. The JFRI Endowment manages and actively seeks bequests, the income from which perpetuates the charitable goals of the donors and supports the purposes of the Federation. The JFRI also owns and publishes The Jewish Voice of RI, a monthly magapaper funded through advertising and a grant from the JFRI Endowment.

Hillel Organization

"Hillel's mission is to maximize the number of Jews doing Jewish with other Jews. Hillel actively seeks to engage
uninvolved Jewish students on their own terms: to provide them with opportunities to do Jewish that are
meaningful and appealing to them. Students are empowered to take responsibility for their Jewish identity,
whether they wish to participate in a community service project, express themselves artistically, participate in a
social event, engage in informal Jewish learning or attend religious services. Any student may participate in Hillel
no membership is required. Hillel is committed to a pluralistic vision of Judaism that embraces all movements."-mission statement from hillel.org

Roger Williams University Newman Club

The Newman Club is the Catholic Association on Campus. We have a very strong bond with them.
